Press Release: LOCAL BREEDERS OF CHAMPION HORSES HOST FIRST EVER OPEN HOUSE
MEDINA, OH (June 14, 2021) – Local Medina, OH horse breeders will open their world class training and breeding facility for a first ever public open house this Saturday, June 19 at 11AM. Fixler Farm, a nationally competitive force in the Peruvian Horse breed, will present many of their champion horses.
Owned by local business owners David and Athena Averette of acclaimed Fixler Roofing and Sharp Container Service, this open house will be the first time they have opened their ranch to the public. Participants will be invited to take guided ranch tours, meet & greet one of their many champion Peruvian Horses, view their impressive trophy and ribbon collection, watch horse demonstrations, and enjoy food by local food truck and area favorite Big Dog Daddy’s.
“We, like many in Ohio, used the pandemic as an opportunity to make improvements on our home and facility,” said David Averette, owner, with wife Athena, of Fixler Farm. “With the addition of our brand new world-class indoor riding facility, we decided it was time to invite our neighbors in Medina and surrounding areas to join us for a day of horses. We breed National Champion Peruvian Horses, which are acclaimed for being the ‘smoothest riding horse in the world.’”
Four Fixler Farm Champion Horses at recent competition in Oklahoma
The Peruvian breed originates in its namesake of Peru and is known for its Champagne Ride. In competition riders carry a full glass of champagne with a winner being crowned at the end for having the most champagne left in their glass. During Saturday’s horse presentation the public will be delighted to see one of these Champagne Rides for themselves.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 11AM with horse demonstrations at 11:30AM and 1PM. The event will conclude at 2PM. Fixler Farm is located at 3644 Abbeyville Road Medina, Ohio 44256.
